Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library |
Employee retention refers to an organisation's ability to keep its employees. Great companies recognise the importance of dedicated employees and know how to keep them. Despite the fact that an organisation spends a significant amount of money on hiring and training employees, many businesses experience a consequential loss of talent each year. This paper includes a questionnaire in which thirty-five (35) employees responded on factors affecting employee retention. Employees from various private equity companies in Klang Valley were chosen randomly for the sample. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were performed on the gathered data. Quantitative data was analysed by means of frequency distributions, means and standard deviations, a test of normality, reliability, correlational and a multiple linear regression analysis. Findings from this study show there is a significant relationship between organisational commitment and employee retention as compared to other variables. On the other hand, other independent variables have a positive relationship, but not as significant as organisational commitment. The literature review is based on past research on the factors influencing organisational employee retention. Previous research has revealed numerous strategies to retain employees; nonetheless, the organisation is not doing enough to retain its talent. Organisations should develop comprehensive retention strategies to effectively decrease employee turnover rates. Implementing efficient staff retention methods is beneficial for organisations in the hospitality industry as it enables them to keep their skilled and capable personnel, leading to enhanced performance. |
