Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library
This thesis explores the impact of cyber security skills and awareness on the cyber security behavior of employees in a Libyan technology company, RASCO. With a sample size of 110 employees, the study employed quantitative methods to measure the level of awareness and skills of employees and how these factors influenced their cyber security behavior. The demographic data revealed a workforce predominantly male (90.9%), with the majority being married (90%), and with a substantial portion holding diplomas (66.4%). Most participants were between the ages of 31-40 (49.1%) and had considerable tenure in their positions, indicating a relatively experienced group. The research applied a Likert scale to evaluate responses to cyber security awareness and skills. The results showed that while employees generally acknowledged the importance of cyber security, this awareness did not strongly correlate with their behavior. The relationship between cyber security skills and behavior was more pronounced, suggesting that skills play a more critical role in shaping secure behaviors. Multiple regression analysis indicated that skills had a significant positive relationship with behavior, whereas awareness did not predict behavior effectively. This suggests that enhancing cyber security behavior may require a focus on actionable skills development rather than awareness campaigns alone. The study's findings hold significant implications for the design of cyber security policies and training programs, emphasizing the need for skill-based training interventions.
