This study examines the impact of information technology on the sustainability of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia using a quantitative approach. This research seeks to objectively evaluate the impact of IT adoption on the sustainability aspects of Malaysian MSMEs, acknowledging the crucial role of IT in improving business processes and gaining a competitive edge. Data was gathered from a diverse range of small and mediumsized enterprises (MSMEs) in different industries using a survey-based method. The study utilises statistical analysis techniques to investigate the correlations between the utilisation of information technology (IT) and the results related to sustainability. Based on the research results, IT adoption has a significant impact on the sustainability of MSMEs in Malaysia. In relation to that, the role of information technology (IT) is crucial in the organization for operational efficiency and competitiveness, while it being able to recognize the rapid evolution of technology, its challenges, and its impact on MSMEs. These findings provide useful insights for business executives and policymakers on the effective utilisation of information technology to achieve sustainable growth of the company.
