This qualitative study investigates the role of market linkers in enhancing Malaysian SMEs' international market presence, framed within the theories of Network Theory in Internationalisation, the Resource-Based View, and Institutional Theory. Through in-depth interviews and document analysis, it assesses the effectiveness and strategic alignment of market linkers with SME Corp. Malaysia's objectives. Findings underscore the indispensable role of market linkers in SMEs' global expansion, offering services ranging from logistical support to strategic market advice. The research identifies a need for stronger government support and ecosystem development to empower market linkers. Recommendations include establishing trade and cultural centres abroad, consolidating distribution centres for SME products, and improving validation processes for market linkers. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of SME internationalisation, providing insights for policy-making and SME strategy development in the global business landscape. |
