Cybersecurity has become a crucial concern in Malaysia as human resource management (HRM) increasingly relies on digital technology. This study probes into the intricate dynamics of cybersecurity regulations, technological investments, and employee training, examining their collective impact on end-user security performance within HRM. In an era of digital transformation, this study becomes particularly significant, addressing cybersecurity challenges within Malaysia's HRM sector. The study employs a quantitative methodology, deploying an extensive survey across a range of industries within the Malaysian HRM landscape. This approach gathers HR professionals' perspectives. This ensures a comprehensive evaluation of cybersecurity practices and their effectiveness in protecting digital resources in HR environments. Data analysis reveals critical insights. A primary finding is that structured cybersecurity training improves security performance. This result emphasizes the vital role of continuous, well-designed training in empowering HR professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle complex cybersecurity issues. Moreover, the study notes that significant technological investments enhance regulatory compliance and contribute to a reduction in data breaches in organizations. However, a notable gap is identified in cybersecurity knowledge practical application among HR professionals. As cyber threats evolve, this signals a vulnerability and highlights the need for ongoing, updated training. The study advocates for a holistic cybersecurity strategy in Malaysian HRM. This comprehensive approach should incorporate effective regulations, robust technological investments, and consistent, current training for employees. Such a strategy is crucial for augmenting cybersecurity measures in HRM. The findings provide actionable insights for Malaysian policymakers and HR practitioners, outlining strategies to fortify cybersecurity capabilities and resilience amid digital challenges.
