The Malaysian construction industry faces considerable challenges in project performance, primarily due to the inadequate integration of risk management within project management processes. This study seeks to address these critical issues by thoroughly examining current risk management practices, identifying barriers to effective integration, and developing a comprehensive framework for seamless integration. Adopting a robust quantitative approach, this research employs a descriptive correlational design to collect data from construction professionals through structured questionnaires. Detailed analysis of the gathered data demonstrates that integrating risk management practices into project management significantly enhances project outcomes. These improvements are evidenced by a notable reduction in project delays, cost overruns, and marked enhancements in overall project quality. The study underscores the crucial roles of stakeholder involvement and continuous training and development in promoting effective risk management. It emphasizes that active participation from all stakeholders and ongoing professional development are vital for achieving the desired integration and efficiency in risk management practices. These results provide compelling empirical evidence and practical recommendations for enhancing risk management practices within the Malaysian construction industry. By adopting the proposed framework, construction projects can achieve greater success in execution, resulting in improved performance metrics across the board. This study not only enriches the academic body of knowledge but also offers actionable insights for practitioners and policymakers, aiming to elevate the standards of project management and risk mitigation in the industry. Through these contributions, the research aspires to facilitate more successful project executions and improve the overall performance and sustainability of the Malaysian construction sector. |
