This research paper explores the feasibility of palm oil settlement scheme project financial profitability and utilizing palm oil crops as a sustainable income source to enhance the economic status of the rural community in Lunda Norte Province, Republic of Angola. The focus is on implementing an integrated palm oil plantation scheme, with anticipated positive impacts on project financial profitability as well as contributes to a sustainable income for the people of Lunda Norte Province. The revenue generated from the project's profitability will stimulate the regional economy and create a spillover effect. The consistent income for participants will elevate their economic status and enhance their spending power, thereby improving their overall livelihoods. The study focuses into the rural development policies since Angola's independence in 1975, emphasizing the need for comprehensive efforts to rehabilitate the rural society and economy. Feasibility criteria are based on the Return of Investment (ROI) in term of project payback period, net present value, and internal rate of return. Research methodology applied is quantitative research and the research design is causal study, utilizing available statistical and secondary data from from public listed companies annual reports, literature review on articles, journals, conference paper proceedings, personal networks with industry experts and from own empirical observations in Angola. Correlation method is employed to identify influential factors affecting the economic enhancement of participants in the proposed palm oil scheme. The anticipated outcome is the identification of a clear correlation between the palm oil scheme and noticeable improvements in socioeconomic conditions. The abstract concludes by emphasizing the potential significance of the research findings for future development initiatives. |
