Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library
Research indicates that industrialized nations, particularly the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have adopted the notion of remote working and hold the top three positions in the "Work From Home" (WFH) concept. A large number of organizations have already incorporated remote work into their working culture, particularly in the last year. Many international corporations are actively using this strategy in the wake of COVID-19. Employers are getting benefits in terms of saving various resources and not bothering to expand much more office spaces (Morikawa, 2022). Whereas employees of the organization are getting more comfortable sitting in their own spaces and not facing many difficulties in reaching the office within time (Yang et al., 2023). Examining the effect of remote work on employee performance in the IT business is the primary goal of this study. During the pandemic, major learning was done and that enhances remote work or WFH more effectively (Martínez-S anchezet al., 2007). But, still, most of the sectors are not engaged in the remote work culture because either these employees are not accessible to the technology or the employers do not want to invest in the technologies used for working remotely (Turkson et al., 2021). The previous literature's findings demonstrated that working remotely improved output, flexibility, access to talent worldwide, cost-effectiveness, working conditions, and the environment. However, there are problems and obstacles associated with working remotely, such as social isolation, indolence, trouble setting priorities, and more. The following endorsements were made: Additional assessments and research, particularly of remote working employees of the IT industry in Klang Valley, are necessary to determine the concept's viability. A comparative analysis with other nations that have implemented remote work for a considerable duration would also be beneficial in identifying best practices and assisting individuals and businesses in developing more advanced policies and procedures. Research attempts to find the answers to intellectual and practical questions through application and systematic methods. Investigation and experiments for the research are used for discovering and interpreting of different facts and theories. Some experts consider research as the movement from the known to the unknown, hence it is known as the voyage of discovery (Kumar, 2019).
