Job satisfaction remains a crucial aspect of healthcare management, particularly as the demand for healthcare services continues to rise in Malaysia. As the nation navigates challenges related to an aging population, growing healthcare needs, and the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the issue of workforce satisfaction has gained significant attention. In recent years, Malaysia has witnessed a growing concern over the retention of healthcare professionals, driven by factors such as high workload, insufficient compensation, and limited opportunities for professional development. These issues have led to burnout, high turnover rates, and a decrease in healthcare service quality. This study investigates the factors influencing job satisfaction among healthcare professionals in a private tertiary hospital in Malaysia, focusing on the relationships between pay, professional development, and workload. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from 225 healthcare professionals through structured questionnaires. Results revealed that pay, professional development and workload had positive correlations and significant relationship with job satisfaction. The findings underscore the importance of fair compensation, career growth opportunities, and effective workload management in enhancing job satisfaction. This research contributes to the understanding of how organizational factors influence employee wellbeing in the healthcare sector and provides practical insights for hospital administrators and policymakers to improve staff retention and performance through targeted intervention. |
