This research investigates the impact of supply chain practices—supplier relationship management, inventory management techniques, technological integration, risk management practices, and sustainable procurement practices—on the effectiveness of defense procurement strategies. The study aims to identify whether these practices contribute to the optimization of procurement processes in defense organizations. A quantitative research methodology was employed, utilizing a structured survey distributed to 120 participants involved in defense procurement. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis to determine the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable, defense procurement effectiveness. The findings reveal that none of the independent variables had a statistically significant impact on procurement effectiveness, with p-values for supplier relationship management (0.301), inventory management techniques (0.123), technological integration (0.740), risk management practices (0.197), and sustainable procurement practices (0.098) all exceeding the 0.05 threshold. These results suggest that while these practices are conceptually important, their direct influence on procurement effectiveness may be limited in this context, possibly due to implementation challenges or external factors. The practical implications of this study highlight the need for defense organizations to refine their integration of these practices to achieve more meaningful outcomes. Theoretically, this research challenges existing assumptions about the straightforward impact of supply chain practices on procurement effectiveness, suggesting that further research is needed to explore the complexities of these relationships. Future studies should investigate the longterm effects and contextual factors that may enhance the effectiveness of these practices in defense procurement. |
