Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library
The Objective of this study explores the impact of eco-friendly packaging on the purchasing behaviour of Australian consumers, emphasizing key factors such as environmental concerns, regulatory compliance, cost implications, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. A quantitative research method approach was used, gathering data from 50 consumers through face-to-face interviews conducted in Melbourne's Central Business District, Australia. The survey data was analysed to determine the influence of various factors on consumer preferences for sustainable packaging. The result of findings reveal that environmental concerns and government regulations significantly drive consumer preferences for eco-friendly packaging, while higher costs remain a major barrier to adoption. Additionally, CSR initiatives by businesses play a crucial role in fostering consumer loyalty towards brands that prioritize sustainable packaging solutions. In conclusion, this research provides valuable insights into how sustainable business practices and well-designed policies can shape market trends, encourage the widespread adoption of eco-friendly packaging, and contribute to a more sustainable economy. It highlights the need for businesses to balance cost considerations with sustainability goals, while policymakers can further support these initiatives through regulation and consumer education.
