Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library
This research investigates the determinants of job satisfaction among employees of the Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission (MCSC), focusing on five key factors: compensation and benefits, career development, work environment, work-life balance, and organizational culture. Using a quantitative research design, a structured questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale was distributed to 171 MCSC employees to assess their perceptions. The study applied descriptive and inferential statistical methods, including Pearson’s correlation and regression analyses, to examine the relationships between these factors and job satisfaction. The findings revealed that all five determinants significantly impact job satisfaction, with organizational culture and work environment showing the strongest positive correlations. Compensation and career development also demonstrated strong positive relationships, reinforcing their importance in public sector organizations like the MCSC. Work-life balance, although moderately correlated, remained an essential factor in maintaining employee well-being and satisfaction. These results provide practical insights for public sector management, emphasizing the need for MCSC to foster a positive organizational culture, offer equitable career advancement opportunities, and ensure competitive compensation packages. The study concludes by suggesting that future research could explore longitudinal and comparative studies across other regulatory bodies to further understand job satisfaction dynamics within the public sector.
