This study examines the effects of flexible work schedules on the well-being of employees in the Oil and Gas sector with specific attention to upstream, downstream, transportation and processing sectors. The current study employs a descriptive research design and uses purposive sampling to obtain data through conducting surveys and interviews to come up with both qualitative and quantitative data. The survey contains ten questions which are rated on a five-point Likert scale, and these questions explore how flexible working hours affect job satisfaction, the management of stress, work-life integration, freedom, output, support from management, and general health. Results indicate that Engineering personnel have a good work-life balance and flexible hours, provides stress management, job satisfaction and overall health. Qualitative findings raised several points on the merits and limitations related to flexible work designs, especially in terms of stakeholder’s interaction and output level. Although employees are more engaged because of the flexibility, they are not shy to voice the need for more interaction with the management. This study notes that one way these issues can be resolved is by improving the work culture and recommends that more longer-term qualitative studies be carried out in order to add value and relevance of the findings. Finally, the research furthers the discourse on flexible working policies and their effects on employees in the Oil and Gas industry. Longitudinal studies and qualitative approaches to enhance the findings' credibility and adaptability, promoting healthier workplace relationships in the Oil and Gas sector. |
