Patient safety culture is important in the healthcare system. Patient safety is influenced by attitudes, leadership and organisational participation. In 2022, 8482 incidences related to patient safety was reported by MOH. This reflected that the PSC in Malaysia was at unsatisfactory level. The study aims to understand what affects and mediates patient safety culture (PSC) among the healthcare sectors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This research adopts a quantitative method. A survey was conducted in August 2024 emphasising on various healthcare sectors in Kuala Lumpur on the healthcare workers’ perception, knowledge, acceptance and attitudes on WC, SR and SC effects towards PSC. Sample size was 379 using stratified random sampling. 100% response rate were answered by respondents from various age, education level, work experience, occupation, position in organisation and working hours per week. The hypotheses result indicated that SC acts a mediator between WC and SR towards PSC. The study suggests a good management supervision, organisation resources and organisations policies that supports and monitors safety practices within healthcare organisation indirectly affects the healthcare working condition and stress among healthcare workers in a positive way. |
