Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library

This research aims to explore the factors which have impact on data compliance and effectiveness in Malaysian financial shared services firms. Survey research design was used to collect data from 402 financial shared service employees. Data were analyzed using structural equation modelling. It was revealed in study that Digital Transformation Initiatives (DTI), Financial Decision-Making Processes (FDMP) and Employee Skills and Training (ES&T) has impact on Data Compliance (DC), similarly Financial Decision-Making Processes (FDMP) and Leadership Support (LS) has impact on Efficiency (E). Whereas, Leadership Support (LS), and Technological Infrastructure (TI) has no significant impact on Data Compliance (DC), similar to Digital Transformation Initiatives (DTI), Technological Infrastructure (TI) and Employee Skills and Training (ES&T) has no impact on Efficiency (E). This research has some limitations including it used quantitative approach to determine the study’s variables. Further research should use qualitative research methods in order to expand the findings. Practically, financial shared services businesses in Malaysia can use this research to optimize data compliance with reference to technological disadvantages and training issues through increasing data transformation, decision making and leadership involvement. This research also has social implication of thorough and successful compliance with data enhance responsibility and credibility in the financial services industry and seek progressive change in the industry. This research stands out in examining a combination of two dependent variables at the same time to identify factors related to data compliance and its efficiency in the Malaysian financial shared services literature.
