Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library |
The global push for cleaner and more sustainable transportation has led to the rising interest in electric vehicles (EVs) as an alternative to traditional fuel-powered cars. This thesis explores the factors affecting the sustainable adoption of electric vehicles in Malaysia, focusing on the interplay between technological, organizational, and environmental influences. Using a mixed-method approach, including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders, the study identifies critical technological factors such as charging infrastructure, vehicle performance, and cost efficiency. Organizational factors, including corporate sustainability policies and government incentives, are analysed, alongside environmental considerations like air quality improvement and the reduction of carbon emissions. Findings indicate that while there is growing awareness and acceptance of EVs, substantial barriers such as insufficient infrastructure and high costs continue to impede widespread adoption. The study concludes with recommendations for policymakers and industry players to enhance EV uptake, contributing to Malaysia’s environmental sustainability goal. |
