Abstract : UNIRAZAK Library |
The cornerstone of a successful business strategy is commonly identified as positive emotional relationships at work. In the past, humans mostly worked alone or in small groups. The complete concept for the product was developed by one person. This allowed them to see how their activities resulted in actual outcomes. They showed consideration for one another and interacted with their co-workers in a pleasant and kind manner. The purpose of this research is to study the factors that impact job satisfaction in IT industry in Klang Valley. Job satisfaction is an unquantifiable metric, is defined as a positive emotional response you experience when doing your job or when you are present at work. Therefore, a concise model should be created to identify the variables that, according to Herzberg's theory, increase employees' job satisfaction. Three hundred and eighty-four sample respondents were chosen for the study using stratified random sampling from Klang Valley’s IT firms. Based on Frederick Hertzberg's two factor theory, the researcher devised a new survey instrument to assess job satisfaction. Factor analysis with IBM SPSS was used to validate the conceptual model. The finding also indicated there is direct effect on moderating effect between all variables including relationship with supervisor, work condition, remuneration, recognition, performance and achievement and responsibility towards motivation and hygiene factors towards employees’ job satisfaction in the research. The study focuses on employees in the Department of Information Technology (IT), perhaps in the future it could include other departments such as Accounting & Finance. For example, this study focusses on the IT staffs only but may one day include the management and non-management as well. Future studies should focus on executives at middle management and exclude top management. Mixing mixed method studies with qualitative instrument such as interview or short-ended questions will help refine feedback. Multiple languages should be made available, such as English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil to increase understanding. Findings of the study can assist companies in developing organizational and human resource strategies. |
